After six days of action, the Asian Para Games is set to come to an end with a closing ceremony on Saturday, 28th October. The Chinese city of Hangzhou is all decked up for the farewell ceremony. It will be held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center. The ceremony will begin at 5.30 P, IST.

According to the creative team of the Games, the ceremony will be a show of China’s love for its friends and camaraderie. “We will be drawing on the finest traditional Chinese rites and rituals in seeing off our beloved friends,” said Sha Xiaolan, chief director of the closing ceremony.
The performance will feature Chinese poems. It is a Chinese tradition to send-off a friend by reciting poems. The entire show will also feature traditional Chinese musical instruments. It includes di (Chinese flute), xiao (vertically played bamboo flute) and guqin (a plucked seven-string instrument).
Also a a total of 213 people with impairments will also take the center stage during the artistic performances.

Closing ceremony to not feature advanced technology
The opening ceremony of both the Asian Games and the Para Games saw a grand usage of augmented reality. For the closing ceremony, the organisers have taken a conscious decision to not use any new-age technology.
One of the major events in the closing ceremony will be the handover ceremony. The official flag of the Asian Para Games will be handed over to Japan. The country will be hosting the next edition in 2026 at Nagoya.
