The Shadow Minister for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, Jones, recently claimed that after raising concerns about the impact of his misogynistic videos, she received threats at work and via email. While discussing Tate’s impact on younger generations earlier this month, Davies-Jones stated, “Teachers are now having to develop their own resources to re-educate boys who are being brainwashed online by his deeply toxic messaging.”
In a given context, she was correct—misogyny and any form of retrograde thinking are harmful to society. However, she subsequently started getting rape and death threats, which she disclosed in a Commons discussion on policing while praising the Pontypridd police team in her town.
She stated, “I’d like to put on record my own thanks to … all of the local police in my south Wales area who have been an immense support to me in the recent weeks after I have spoken out about the horrendous abuse and behavior of Andrew Tate online.
