PVL 2023 LIVE: Ahmedabad Defenders and Calicut Heroes are set to lock horns in a blockbuster semifinal contest at the Prime Volleyball League 2023. Both the teams finished at the second and third spot respectively in the group stages of the tournament. They are set to battle for a spot in the final on Saturday, 4th March 2023. Ahmedabad Defenders, who were the runner-up last year are aiming to reach their second successive final. The team led by Muthusamy finished the league stage at the second spot. They won five out of the seven matches. They enter the semifinal after losing their last league game against Kolkata Thunderbolts.
Calicut Heroes meanwhile finished the league stage with 4 wins and 3 losses. The team led by Mat Hilling started the tournament with three successive wins. However they faltered towards the end of the league stages. They hav lost three out of their last four matches.
They also enter the semifinals on the back of two successive defeats. The Heroes are looking for a turnaround in front of the local crowd as Kochi is set to attract lot of Calicut fans to the stadium.
