“I concentrate on what I like the most, like friends. Returning to play comes into my head from time to time but I know it’s something I can’t do. They told me I was lucky because I could easily have had a heart attack. Now it’s time to relax. I’m happy with what I’m doing.”

It was the end of October 2021, when Aguero was told about his chest discomfort. It was due to cardiac arrhythmia and he was ruled out of action for three months. Cardiac arrhythmia means when your heart beats irregularly. It can be either too slowly or too quickly. At that time, no one thought that we’ll never see the striker play again.
In the month of December 2021, Aguero announced his retirement from football. This decision was taken at the back of the medical advice he received. After that, he thanked all the teams that he had been a part of.

He wants to watch and play football but he can’t. The striker was is way too scared following his cardiac arrhythmia diagnosis. Sergio was forced into retiring from football after advice from his doctors.

Aguero has now insisted that it is time to relax. Meanwhile, he will consider what kind of role he can play in football in the coming future.
When he was asked about his role with Argentina for the 2022 World Cup, he said, “We’re still talking about what role I’ll have. Argentine FA president Claudio Tapia has always been nice to me and asked me to come.”
“We’re going to chat a little more to see if I’ll go to the World Cup draw. I’ll be there with the guys, I get along very well with them. I’ll be there with them and helping them with tense situations.”
