CSK vs PBKS: PBKS have defeated CSK by 5 wickets to clinch their second win of IPL 2026. Punjab Kings got off to a flying start, thanks to Priyansh Arya’s 39-run cameo off 11 deliveries. Prabhsimran Singh went on to score 43 runs but was forced to walk back after a mix-up with Cooper Connolly. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored a well-deserved fifty but unfortunaltely couldn’t last till the end of the run-chase.
Batting first in the contest, Ayush Mhatre provided the perfect start for CSK after the team lost Sanju Samson cheaply for just 7 runs. The youngster hammered 73 runs off 43 deliveries to help CSK stabilize their innings after losing an early wicket. While captain Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to convert a good start into a big knock, it was Sarfaraz Khan (32 off 12) and Shivam Dube (45 off 27) who powered CSK past the 200-run mark and allowed them to set a 210-run total for Punjab Kings (PBKS). PBKS won the toss and opted to bat first at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. A 96-run partnership between Mhatre and Gaikwad followed by a 41-run 6th wicket partnership between Dube and Prashant Veer allowed the 5-time champions to reach a commendable total at the end of 20 overs.
