In a double blow for RCB, opener Phil Salt and pacer Rasikh Salam Dar are set to miss the team's next IPL 2026 game against DC

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt will miss a second consecutive IPL 2026 game, Dinesh Karthik has confirmed on the eve of the game against Delhi Capitals. The England opener wasn’t a part of the game against the Gujarat Titans as well and was replaced by fellow Englishman Jacob Bethell in RCB’s playing XI. Apart from Salt, pacer Rasikh Salam Dar is also set to miss the game against DC due to a calf strain.

No Salt, Salam for RCB against DC

Speaking to the media ahead of the RCB vs DC game, batting coach & mentor Karthik informed that Salt will not be a part of the contest as he is still recovering from an injury. The England star has featured in 6 games in IPL 2026 so far in which he has scored 202 runs at a strike rate of 168.33 and an average of 33.66, including two fifties. His absence would mean Bethell will get another chance to feature in RCB’s playing XI.

Phil Salt is the leading run-scorer in the powerplay in this season. He has hit 11 sixes and has a strike rate of 193.61

Meanwhile, Rasikh Salam has also been ruled out of the RCB vs DC game. The pacer was seen struggling while fielding during the game against GT and had to be attended by the physios following which he was forced to leave the field. As rep reports, he has a muscle strain and hence won’t be a part of the game.

Rasikh Salam Dar, who was in the field against Gujarat Titans, is also battling fitness concerns. It is learnt that Rasikh, who left the field halfway through the last match due to a muscle strain, will also be unavailable for the match against Delhi Capitals,” a TV9 Kannada report stated.

So far, Rasikh has featured in 4 matches for RCB in IPL 2026 where he has managed to bag five wickets. RCB could bring Abhinandan Singh in place of Salam in the game against DC.

RCB are currently second on the IPL 2026 points table, with 10 points to their name. A win against DC on Monday will solidify their position at the 2nd spot on the standings.
