Katie Taylor Becomes Two-Weight Undisputed Champion After Defeating Chantelle Cameron

In the last seconds, Taylor came dangerously close to falling, but she managed to stay upright at a critical juncture for the scorecards

On Saturday, November 25, live internationally on DAZN, Chantelle Cameron made her return to the Lion’s Den to defend her undisputed Super-Lightweight World Titles against Irish icon Katie Taylor at the 3Arena in Dublin. Katie Taylor won 95-95, 98-92, and 96-94 to defeat Chantelle Cameron by majority decision.

Katie Taylor Wants A Trilogy Fight At Croke Park

In the last seconds, Katie Taylor came dangerously close to falling, but she managed to stay upright at a critical juncture for the scorecards. Two judges gave it a tie; the other two gave Taylor scores of 98-92 and 96-94.

Michael Benson has also shared the image of the scorecard on his X handle, as he captions the post “Katie Taylor MD Chantelle Cameron II official judges’ scorecards…

“Whoever wrote me off obviously doesn’t know me very well,” she said. “Let’s get the trilogy at Croke Park.”

Taylor, who contested as the underdog for the first time in her career, becomes one of just two fighters in the four-belt era to win uncontested belts in two separate weight classes, along with Claressa Shields and Terence Crawford.

Cameron lost the first fight in her 19-bout professional career, and she also lost the light-welterweight championships from the IBF, WBA, WBO, and WBC.

Taylor termed the fight her “real homecoming” and, when she demanded a decisive battle in the 80,000-seater Croke Park, the Gaelic Games stadium, which is also located in the Irish city, she infuriated the already jubilant audience.

After suffering sorrow six months prior, the 37-year-old withdrew during fight week, but she rallied during one of her best performances to complete what will undoubtedly go down as her biggest triumph.

The battle lived up to the enormous expectations, with both combatants giving it their all in front of a boisterous partisan audience. However, following ten tight rounds, Cameron emerged victorious and solidified her status as one of the world’s top female fighters.
