Paul and Mayweather fought on the same day this weekend. Mayweather took on Aaron Chalmers in an exhibition, while Paul took on Tommy Fury. And although this question would seem ridiculous four or five years ago, let’s compare the two events to see if Jake Paul is a bigger star than Mayweather.

It is fair to say Mayweather’s exhibitions have not gone well since his bout with Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul. Since then, the former multi-weight world champion only attracts criticism for his events. And it was more of the same this weekend as fans only trolled Mayweather for the lack of competition, the unsold seats, and the lack of hype.
A simple search on Twitter will show you what fans thought of the Mayweather vs Chalmers event. Moreover, this is not the first time. However, it doesn’t seem to bother the superstar boxer, as he simply fights to collect his cheque.

Paul vs Fury, on the other hand, drew a lot of attention. There were heaps of drama and trash talk before the fight, tons of promotion with face-to-face, gloves off, and more. And ultimately, a decent fight to back it up. And although Fury gave Jake Paul a boxing lesson and took home the split decision, it is still the talk of the sport today. Even stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Mike Tyson, Deontay Wilder, and others attended the fight.
While we do not have the numbers from either event as yet, just browsing through social media will give you an idea of what fans thought of the event. And thus, as much as it hurts to admit, at the moment, Jake Paul is a bigger start than Floyd Mayweather in boxing. However, this is only considering the current scenario.
The situation is such that fans are more likely to attend a Jake Paul bout rather than a Floyd Mayweather bout. However, outside this, Floyd Mayweather is definitely a much bigger star than Paul.
