Floyd Mayweather sends a message to Virat Kohli and the team

Mayweather attended the Sacramento Kings game in the NBA last night. And the former world champion caught up with Vivek Ranadive, the chairman, CEO, and Governor of the Kings. Ranadive is an Indian origin American and therefore, it is no surprise that he is following the World Cup.

When Vivek Ranadive asked Mayweather what he wanted to say to Virat Kohli and the Indian team, Mayweather responded with, “I want to say to the Indian Cricket Team, congratulations, you guys are the best for making it to the world cup finals.”

Therefore, with this comment, Mayweather made his feelings clear towards the Indian cricket team. And he is not the only high-profile athlete outside cricket to get into the ICC Cricket World Cup fever. Recently, football superstar David Beckham attended the semi-final match in Mumbai between India and New Zealand.

The match saw Virat Kohli score a historic 50th century in the 50-over format, surpassing the great Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in the format. Thus, Beckham picked a good game to attend.

So there you have it. Floyd Mayweather joins David Beckham in getting into the ICC ICC Cricket World Cup mood. What do you make of this? Do you think Mayweather is actually aware of the team’s performance in the tournament?
