After a convincing victory over Demetrius Andrade, David Benavidez was officially confirmed as Canelo Alvarez’s mandatory challenger. However, if the undefeated super middleweight champion doesn’t want to give him the chance, the man known as “Red Flag” has other ideas and potential opponents in mind for the 2024 fight.

Benavidez was motivated to prove to Canelo that he is worthy of a fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas. In order to win by technical knockout, he wounded, subdued, and ultimately forced his opponent to quit the fight. If he was already thought to be the opponent who would face Canelo, then he made another crucial move to ensure the fight took place.

David Benavidez To Keep Fighting With Or Without Canelo

It was David Benavidez, the 26-year-old who has lived up to the moniker “The Mexican Monster,” who made everyone take a closer look at what may be in store for Canelo Alvarez. a methodical and incredibly brutal destruction of an opponent who had never lost before and whom no one wanted to face. Fearing permanent injury, Canelo’s team declined to send him into the seventh round after his opponent, who frequently called him out, took a terrifying beating. It was the type of show that makes a guy shudder in horror.

The 168-pound champion David Benavidez said, “Canelo Alvarez has no one to fight, if he wants to give me the fight today, tomorrow, or whenever he wants, I’ll be here. My job is not complete yet. If Canelo doesn’t want to, I will beat anyone else. I’m going to keep fighting.”

The battle between David Benavidez and Canelo is what the fans and he desire since Benavidez knows he is superior to the unchallenged 168-pound king.

“Is that what you guys want, against Canelo? Let’s do it… I want you to know who the 168 [pound] champion is and that’s what I proved today. I’m just going to beat everybody they put in front of me, I’m the best in the division with Canelo or without Canelo… we’re going to give the people what they want, Canelo,” he said to the cheers of those present at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.

Fans commented on the post with comments such as:

To demonstrate that this is the Red Flag era, David Benavidez wants to compete at 175 pounds and hope to face opponents similar to Dmitry Bivol, the man who defeated Canelo in 2022.
