India Rising Series 2026 offers a new pathway to BMPS qualification, giving underdog BGMI teams a fair chance to compete and reach India’s top esports stage.

Krafton India has teamed up with Upthrust Esports to host the India Rising Series (IRS) 2026, and this year, the tournament carries much more significance than before. Along with a ₹10 lakh prize pool, the event is expected to offer direct qualification spots for the prestigious BMPS 2026. This gives underdog and emerging teams a rare chance to prove themselves and earn a place among the top BGMI squads in the country.

New Way to Qualify for BMPS 2026

Usually, teams can only qualify for BMPS if they receive a direct invite or perform extremely well in the BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series). But the India Rising Series (IRS) 2026 is changing how things work. Since it is now an official tournament supported by Krafton, it acts as a second pathway for teams to reach BMPS.

This gives another chance to teams that may have missed out in earlier qualifiers. The best-performing squads from the IRS Grand Finals, which are scheduled to take place from April 24 to April 26, 2026, are expected to secure spots in the upcoming BMPS season.

Why the India Rising Series Is Important

One of the biggest strengths of the India Rising Series is its open-for-all format. Unlike many tournaments where popular teams receive direct invites, IRS requires everyone to start from the in-game qualifiers. This creates a fair and competitive environment where any skilled team has a chance to shine.

Because of this, even a group of unknown players can defeat a well-known professional organization and earn a place in one of India’s biggest BGMI leagues.

By connecting third-party tournaments like Upthrust’s IRS with major official events such as BMPS, Krafton is helping make the Indian esports ecosystem more structured and active throughout the year. Instead of having only a few major competitions, players now have more opportunities to compete and prove themselves.
