Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are dealing with injuries. We have our first major controversy of the season. And who is Pat Cummins’ favourite player?

IPL 2026’s first Super Over

The LSG vs KKR match literally went down to the wire. Mohammed Shami smashed a six on the 240th ball of the match, sending the game to the Super Over. No one could predict as both teams wrestled for control. The clash ended with LSG scoring just 1 run in the Super Over and Rinku Singh winning it for KKR.

RCB’s injury woes

Phil Salt and Rasikh Salam won’t be available to play for RCB against DC on April 27 in Delhi. The opener didn’t play against GT due to an injury, and Jacob Bethell will continue to open with Virat Kohli. As for Rasikh, he suffered a muscle strain against GT and has yet to recover.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury update

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had limped off the field during the second innings of the RR vs SRH match in Jaipur. It seemed like the 15-year-old pulled his hamstring while chasing a ball to the boundary. After the game, RR batting coach Vikram Rathour confirmed that it was a hamstring injury, but it isn’t serious.

Controversial run in LSG vs KKR

Before the Super Over, there was another controversial moment in the LSG vs KKR match. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was adjudged out for obstructing the field by the third after he dived in front of the ball, saving himself from a potential run-out. Angkrish and KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar were both furious with the decision.

Cummins goes gaga over Sooryavanshi

After Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 36-ball hundred, SRH captain Pat Cummins called the teenager his ‘new favourite player’. Cummins stated that a bowler, like himself, has to be at their best against him, or he’ll hit them into the stands. Sooryavanshi had hit Cummins for a six off the first ball but scored 2 off 3 after it.

No luck for Mohsin or Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his first fifty of IPL 2026, remaining unbeaten on 74 and guiding CSK to 158. But it didn’t prove to be enough against GT. Meanwhile, Mohsin Khan claimed the first 5-wicket haul of the season, but the LSG batters weren’t at their best against KKR.
