Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mohsin Khan quite literally ran through Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) batting line-up in the game on Sunday as he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in the Indian Premier League. The injury-prone pacer was brought back into the playing XI for the two games after missing four matches in a row. Mohsin finished with an outstanding spell of 5/23 in his 4 overs, leaving KKR’s top and middle-order rattled.

Mohsin’s first victim on Sunday was Tim Seifert, as he was dismissed for a three-ball duck in the final delivery of the second over of the innings. In his very next over, he got rid of KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane for 10 off 15 deliveries as the latter was caught out by Aiden Markram, similar to how his opening partner was dismissed.
Rovman Powell became Mohsin’s next victim in the first delivery of the 7th over as he was caught behind by Rishabh Pant, and was sent packing for 1 run off 4 balls. Then, came the final two blows. Mohsin got rid of the dangerous Cameron Green (34 off 21) and Anukul Roy (0 off 1) in back-to-back deliveries, finishing his four-over spell with outstanding figures. This has also become his best figures in IPL to date.
“I’m absolutely fine, fully fit. I’ve worked really hard, especially in the off-season with our trainer Sohab bhai. My body feels good and everything is going well,” Mohsin said, dispelling any speculations over his fitness.
With this spell, Mohsin is the 3rd uncapped Indian with the best figures in the IPL.
