UEFA Champions League: Jordan Henderson scores amazing goal as Liverpool ousts AC Milan 3-2

Liverpool beat AC MilanJordan Henderson amazing goal: Liverpool had the chance to double their lead in the 14th minute when they received a penalty due to a handball by Ismael Bennacer. Starman Mohamed Salah’s stepped up to take the penalty but was impressively saved by the French goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The hosts proceeded to gather pressure but were powerless and could not find that second goal. The visitors took advantage and scored in the 42nd minute against the run of play as Ante Rebic finished off after good order of passes from Brahim Diaz and Alexis Saelemaekers.

It did not take Milan to double its lead as they cut through Liverpool again after Rafael Leao’s run. Rebic was calm and passed to Theo Hernandez whose shot was blocked on the line by Alexander-Arnold. However, Brahim Diaz was there at the right moment to put it over the line from close range.

Milan almost made it 3-1 at the start of the second half as Simon Kjaer struck home from close range following a poor hit by Henderson, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Liverpool was level two minutes later as Salah finished off a neat one-two with Divock Origi and avenged his penalty miss. There was a VAR check for this goal but it stood.

But this was no less exciting and Liverpool retook the lead in stunning fashion as Alexander-Arnold’s corner was headed clear by Bennacer but only as far as Henderson who hit a perfect half volley into the corner.
