Wimbledon 2022 LIVE: Wimbledon-Robinson partnership ends: The long-standing partnership between Wimbledon and Robinsons has come to an end after 86 years. It was the second longest-standing sponsorship deal in the history of Wimbledon. The partnership started in 1935. The tweet from Robinsons said, “Robinsons is no longer sponsoring Wimbledon fortnight and this year will be celebrating the whole of summer with The Big Fruit Hunt – an interactive opportunity to find virtual fruit and win real prizes.”

Reason behind ending the partnership: Reportedly, the company wanted to expand its reach during the summer by promoting some of its other brands at The Championships Wimbledon, including Pepsi Max, fruit shoot, J20, Rockstar Energy and Gatorade. However, All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) did not want to be associated with other drinks containing sugar.
The AELTC said, “After more than 80 years, we can confirm that the partnership between the AELTC and Robinsons has come to an end. We are tremendously proud of the historic association with Robinsons over so many years, and thank them for the wider role they have played in supporting Wimbledon and tennis across the UK.”

Long-standing sponsors of Wimbledon: There are numerous brands associated with The Championships Wimbledon for more than a decade. For instance, the Slazenger partnered with the Wimbledon in 1902, as the official ball. Other brands include –
- IBM partnered with Wimbledon in 1990 and supports AELTC and the tennis tournament to be the premier tennis tournament across the globe.
- Lanson has been part of Wimbledon since 2001 and recently, it was selected as the Official Champagne Supplier of The Championships.
- HSBC has been associated with The Championships Wimbledon since 2008. HSBC is the official banking partner of the tennis tournament.
- Polo Ralf Lauren is the Official Outfitter for The Championships Wimbledon and has been part of the tennis tournament since 2006.
- Evian has been the Official Water of Wimbledon since 2008.
- Lavazza is the official coffee partner of The Championships Wimbledon since 2011.
The most prestigious tennis tournament The Championships Wimbledon will start on 27 June 2022 and conclude on 10 July 2022. The Championships Wimbledon 2022 matches will be telecasted LIVE on Star Sports Network and LIVE streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
