Mumbai City FC have continued with their hot run and bulldozed yet another team in their path. It was a bit of a cagey affair in the first half, and it came to life only at the fag end when MCFC created a couple of close chances but without the end product. The second half started well as both teams looked a bit more organized. The tempo of the game was certainly better and soon, the brilliant combination of Lallianzuala Chhangte and Jorge Diaz set up the first goal of the match. Odisha FC were determined though and were not ready to take it lying down.

Minutes after the first goal, Diego Mauricio showed his brilliance and joined forces with Victor Rodriguez to earn the equalizer. It was a productive period of play as Mumbai City FC regained the lead through Bipin Singh and then the floodgates opened. The visitors got one more as Lallianzuala Chhangte scored his second goal of the evening before playing a part in the fourth goal for MCFC. Odisha FC did pull one back through Mauricio in the added time but it was not enough for them. After putting up stern resistance, the home team lost the plot and suffered their fifth loss of the season.
