Gujarat Giants started the game with a lead with Rakesh accumulating points in the raids. However Puneri Paltan were not too far away as they kept the deficit under control. However Rakesh managed to take out Paltan defenders Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabhibhaksh as Paltan lost the plot in the middle and allowed Giants to take a big lead. They soon initiated the first all out of the game to take a five-point lead at 16-11.
However Paltan gave a strong comeback as they changed their plan and Fazel Atrachali immediately tackled both their star raiders Rakesh and Chandran Ranjith in quick succession to help Paltan level the scores. By the end of first half, Giants led 19-17. In the second half too Paltan fought well as they took an all-out and led 22-21. But Giants came back strong with Rakesh yet again impressive in the raids. The Paltan defence couldn’t find ways to keep him silent as the were soon all-out twice as they took an unassailable 47-37 lead and closed out the contest.
