Just when the gaming community thought the release schedule for Grand Theft Auto VI was set in stone, a new rumor has sparked panic online. According to an anonymous post on 4chan, Rockstar Games is allegedly preparing to delay GTA 6 once again, this time pushing the highly anticipated title to February 2027.
GTA 6 Delayed Again? Here is What Recent Rumors Says
The leaker goes on to say that Rockstar, along with their parent company Take-Two Interactive, is preparing to make an announcement about the delay at an upcoming shareholders’ meeting. In addition to this, the leaker said that the PC version of the game is set for release in May 2027. Lastly, when asked what time Trailer 3 will be released, the poster said, “No idea.”
Even the slightest information regarding GTA 6’s delay would instantly create tremors in the gaming world; however, such rumors need to be treated with an enormous pinch of salt at best.
The fact is that historically, 4chan has been a platform for unreliable leaks and trolls. As we approach the much-awaited shareholders’ earnings report, people online seek to influence the opinions of the community.
What’s more, the rumor completely contradicts some statements that were made just recently. In particular, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, recently assured that the release of the game would not be postponed.
What Comes Next?
Rather than waiting, industry trends show that the upcoming release of pre-order options and the much-awaited Trailer 3 for GTA 6 is near. In fact, recent leaks from retail sources over the last week have been pointing to the possibility that pre-orders for the PS5 and XSX/S versions could begin rolling out shortly.
As long as Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive does not say anything else, GTA VI is definitely coming out in November 2026.
