Yograj Singh Slams MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev for Mistreating Players

Yograj Singh, in an explosive interview with InsideSport, has accused former Indian cricket captains MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, and Bishan Singh Bedi of mistreating fellow players and creating a toxic team environment. The controversy stems from a resurfaced interview of Irfan Pathan, which sparked renewed scrutiny of Dhoni’s leadership, including rumours of favouritism linked to a ‘hookah’ controversy.

Singh highlighted grievances from players like Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, and Harbhajan Singh, who reportedly faced unfair treatment. Harbhajan, for instance, was allegedly removed from the team abruptly. Singh criticised Dhoni’s reluctance to address these issues, suggesting a guilty conscience.

He also referenced his own strained history with Kapil Dev, recalling a confrontation involving a gun over his exclusion from the team. Singh’s remarks paint a grim picture of Indian cricket’s leadership, alleging that prominent captains destroyed team morale by treating players poorly. His outspoken comments have reignited debates about Dhoni’s legacy, particularly his tenure as Chennai Super Kings captain, and raised questions about accountability in Indian cricket’s leadership.
