MI vs PBKS: Punjab Kings have climbed to the top of the points table in Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) with their 4th win as they defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Hardik Pandya and co. were no match for the visitors, as the latter chased down the 196-run target in just 16.3 overs. As a result of the loss, Mumbai now find themselves at the 9th spot on the points table with just one win from five games.

de Kock’s heroics go in vain

Quinton de Kock replaced Rohit Sharma in MI’s playing for the game against PBKS and created an immediate impact on his arrival. slammed 101 off 53 deliveries, boasting of a strike rate of 190.57. The Proteas batter stayed unbeaten on 112 runs off 60 balls, with 8 fours and 7 sixes to his name at the end of 20 overs. Naman Dhir scored a 50 and stitched together a 122-run partnership with de Kock to power MI to a formidable total. MI managed to reach 195/6 at the end of 20 overs, but that wasn’t enough to stop PBKS.

Prabhsimran, Iyer power PBKS to 4th win

Allah Ghazanfar struck twice in the powerplay to send Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly packing early on in the run-chase. However, the Mumbai Indians hardly tasted success after that. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar were taken to the cleaners by Prabhsimran Singh and PBKS captain Sheyas Iyer. Singh stayed unbeaten on 80 runs off 39 balls at the end of the run-chase while Iyer slammed his third consecutive half-century in IPL 2026. It was quite an easy task for PBKS as they completed the run-chase with ease to extend their unbeaten streak in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
