After the match, England captain Heather Knight said, “There are plenty of learnings we can take from this. In the main formats we play, which are in white-ball cricket, you’re not often exposed to conditions like this. It was super extreme and I’ll be surprised if we play in something like this again unless we play a Test match here in the near future.”

India scored 428 in their first innings, with four batters making fifties, while the only England player to go fifty was Nat Sciver (59) in the first innings.

In reply to India’s declaration of 186-6 in the second innings, England needed 478 runs to win. Deepti Sharma’s spin was too much for the visitors to take. Deepti finished with a 9-wicket haul in the match, as England had no answer to the off-spinner’s questions.
