Sourav Ganguly sends World Cup warning: Rohit-Dravid will find way to succeed

Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have the full backing of former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly despite recent failures ICC tournaments.

Even though India Cricket Team is enduring a dry spell in terms of ICC trophies for a decade, failing to land 8 trophies in this period, former India captain Sourav Ganguly is confident of India’s World Cup 2023 success. The former BCCI believes that skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid can turn things around for India at the upcoming and end the ICC title drought.

“Pressure will always be there. When they played before also, there was pressure. During Rahul Dravid’s playing days, there was pressure to perform, and now that he is the head coach, there is pressure on him to deliver. That will not go away, and I don’t think pressure is an issue,” Sourav Ganguly told Revsportz.

Sourav Ganguly sends World Cup 2023 warning: Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid will find way to succeed, can deal with pressure

Sourav Ganguly believes in the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The India captain might have failed in the last two ICC finals but has led Mumbai Indians to five Indian Premier League titles. He also led India to Asia Cup 2018 triumph.

Rohit Sharma has five centuries in the last ODI World Cup. I am sure there must have been pressure on him then also. Pressure is not a problem. I am sure they will find a way to succeed,” Ganguly said.

“Just win it. He has won five IPLs, which is not easy also. So hopefully, he can do it for India in this World Cup,” he added.

Who are favourites as per Sourav Ganguly?

Other than Team India the Ganguly has picked Australia, England and New Zealand to make it to the semifinals. He also believes Pakistan will also have a chance to make it. But he wants an India-Pakistan semi-final at the Eden Gardens.

“It’s very hard to say. Australia, England, India. You can never underestimate New Zealand in these big matches. I will pick five, and include Pakistan also. Pakistan better qualify so that we will have the India-Pakistan semi-final at the Eden Gardens,” told Ganguly.
