India’s men’s doubles pair bowed out of the tournament after losing against South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk and Seo Seung-jae. India’s women’s doubles duo Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy too faced straight set defeat against South Korean pair Eom Hye Won and Bo Ryeong Kim.

PV Sindhu Enters Semifinals: Busanan again could not do much against PV Sindhu. The Swiss Open champion won the 1st game with ease at 21-10.
The 2nd game was also a routine affair as Sindhu took big lead and close the game and match at 21-16.
Sindhu now has 16-1 Head to Head record against the Thai player.

Sindhu is attempting to win her second Korea Open title. On the other hand, Srikanth looks to end his title-barren run since 2017.
The ace shuttlers are the only remaining Indians in contention in the singles events.

Korea Open Badminton LIVE: Kidambi Srikanth in Semifinals of Korea Open
- Former World No.1 Kidambi Srikanth will lock horns against World No.78 Son Wan-Ho. The World No.12 Indian enters the contest after defeating Misha Zilberman 21-18, 21-6 in the second round.
- Kidambi Srikanth, who won the World Championship silver medal last year is on a comeback trail this season.
- He missed the season’s first tournament, which is the Indian Open, after contracting Covid. He then reached the quarterfinals of the German Open, where he lost to World No.1 Viktor Axelsen in straight sets.
- After a second round exit from the All England Championship, he reached the semifinals of the Swiss Open. He missed out on a final berth in the tournament after losing to Jonatan Christie. He is now eyeing a first title this year.
- Meanwhile for Wan-Ho this is the first major tournament this year. He started the competition by defeating Jason Teh in three sets in the first round and managed to win against Thailand’s Kataphon Wangchaoren 21-17, 21-14 in straight sets. He will face a big challenge against Srikanth in the quarterfinal.
Srikanth vs Son Wan-Ho LIVE – Check Head-to-Head: Surprisingly Wan-Ho leads the head-to-head record by winning seven matches, while Srikanth has won four games. This will be their 12th meeting. They last met during the 2019 Syed Modi International with Wan-Ho winning the contest in straight sets. Srikanth however is now a favourite to win the contest and will look to reduce the gap in the head-to-head record.
PV Sindhu vs Busanan Ongbamrungphan LIVE – Sindhu vs Busanan LIVE
- Sindhu, who won the Syed Modi International Championships earlier this year faced a downfall after that as she crashed out from the second round at German Open.
- She made another second round exit from the All England Championships.
- She has however resurrected her season with the Swiss Open title and is now looking to win her second title at Korea after winning the championship in 2017.
- Meanwhile Ongbamrungphan is in search of her first title this year. She faced a first round exit at the German Open and bowed from from the All England championship in the second. She finished as runners up in the Swiss Open, after losing to Sindhu.
Sindhu vs Busanan LIVE & Head-to-Head:
- This will be the third meeting between Sindhu and Ongbamrungphan this year. They had already met earlier this year in the first round of the German Open with Sindhu winning the contest 21-8, 21-7. Their recent meeting came in the finals of the Swiss Open where Sindhu clinched a 21-16, 21-8 victory to win the title.
- Sindhu has a 15-1 head-to-head record and is once again the favourite in the upcoming contest. Ongbamrungphan will however be eager to avenge her defeats twice this year and will look to put up a good show.

Satwiksairaj-Chirag [IND] vs Kang-Seo [SKR]
Indian doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty bowed out after facing close defeat against Kang Min-hyuk and Seo Seung-jae. The third-seeded Indian pair lost 20-22, 21-18, 20-22 to the Korean pair in a very closely fought quarterfinal match that lasted for an hour and 17 minutes.
Women’s Doubles
Ponnappa-Reddy [IND] vs Eom-Kim [SKR]
In the women’s doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy faced straight set defeats against South Korean pair Eom Hye Won and Bo Ryeong Kim. The Koreans proved to be too relentless and despite good efforts from the Indian duo, especially in the rallies, they were unable to win as they lost 19-21-19, 17-21.
