Virat Kohli warns Team India from this ‘Impact Player’ in WTC Final
Team India star batter Virat Kohli has warned Team India of certain ‘impact player’ in Australian Team ahead of WTC Final 2023. Check out who?
Team India star batter Virat Kohli has warned Team India of certain ‘impact player’ in Australian Team ahead of WTC Final 2023. Kohli has lavished praised on Australian batter David Warner ahead of marquee India vs Australia (IND vs AUS) clash at the Oval, London.
Warner was referred to as a “Impact player” for Australia by Virat in a video aired by ICC. He claimed that because Warner rarely makes mistakes, once he gets rolling, it is hard to stop him.
“Virat Kohli knows the impact David Warner can have in a big match,” the ICC Twitter handle captioned the video.
What Virat Kohli said about David Warner?
“Impact player. When David gets going, he can take the game away from you pretty quickly. He’s someone that you probably look to get out pretty quickly otherwise he can hurt you very early and consistently. He seems to have this zone that he gets into where he just starts hitting boundaries and doesn’t stop and he doesn’t make many mistakes in that space,” Virat told ICC.
“He has always played impactful innings for Australia across formats and test cricket as well he’s had some amazing innings that he had played for the Australian team and is certainly a very dangerous player and someone that you need to get rid of pretty quickly,” Kohli added.
The 36-year-old struggled at times during the past two years, recording only one century – his epic 200 on Boxing Day last summer – and 18 scores of 15 or less in 32 innings. He scored just 95 runs in five Tests at 9.5 during the 2019 Ashes tour.
Warner, however, played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in 14 games and scoring 516 runs. In the season, he had a 36.86 average and a 131.63 strike rate. Although he wasn’t at his best, these runs will boost his confidence going into a crucial final.
