Israel Adesanya facing Racism

Adesanya, who was born in Nigeria but moved to New Zealand as a teenager, is one of the most successful fighters in the UFC, with a record of 24 wins and just two defeat. Despite his success, Adesanya has faced criticism and racism from some quarters in New Zealand, who have questioned his African heritage.

The issue came to a head earlier this year when Adesanya’s bitter rival, Dricus du Plessis, stated that he wanted to become the UFC’s first ‘real’ African champion.

Adesanya, who was offended by the comment, responded on social media, stating that just because he was born in Nigeria but moved to New Zealand doesn’t make him any less African.

Adesanya’s comments have sparked a conversation about the issue of racism in New Zealand, with many people expressing their support for the fighter. Adesanya has also become a role model for young people of African descent in New Zealand, who look up to him as a symbol of strength and resilience.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Adesanya remains focused on his career in the UFC. He is set to face du Plessis in a highly anticipated fight later this year, and he is determined to defend his title and prove his worth as one of the best fighters in the world.

Adesanya’s story is a reminder of the importance of embracing our heritage and standing up against racism and discrimination. By sharing his own experiences and speaking out against injustice, he has become an inspiration to many people around the world.
