Most Grand Slam Titles: Novak Djokovic equals Margaret Court’s tally of 24 titles

Novak Djokovic lifted his 24th Grand Slam title after winning the US Open title. He has now equalled Margaret Court's all-time tally

Most Grand Slam titles: Novak Djokovic has become the first-ever Tennis player in the Open era to lift 24 Grand Slam wins. The 36-year old achieved the feat after winning the US Open title on Sunday, 10th September. He defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 in the summit clash.

With his 24th Grand Slam win, Djokovic has also equalled Margaret Court’s tally of Grand Slam wins. Out of Court’s 24 titles, 13 came in the Amateur era while she won 11 titles in the Open era.

By lifting his 24th Grand Slam title, Djokovic has gone past Serena Williams overall tally of 23 Grand Slam titles. He has also extended his lead against Rafael Nadal, who has 22 titles to his name.

Djokovic started the year with 21 titles, which was one behind Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 titles. At the end of the year he no has two titles more than the Spanish legend.

With his victory in the US Open, Djokovic has also achieved other notable records. He has become the oldest man to lift a Grand Slam title in the Open era. The 36-year old also become the first-ever player to win three Grand Slam titles in a season for the fourth time.

This is also his fourth US Open title. With that he has become the fourth man to win four titles at the Flushing Meadows. Robert Wrenn, John McEnroe and Rafael Nadal are the other men with four US Open titles to their name. Djokovic will also reach the World No.1 ranking when the rankings get updated on Monday.
