Holger Rune vs Alexei Popyrin
Seventh seed Holger Rune will take on Alexei Popyrin in the fourth round. Rune is playing in the tournament for the first time. He began his campaign by defeating Arthur Fils in the second round in straight sets. In the second round he sailed past Italian Fabio Fognini. The Dane is looking to clinch his second title on clay courts this season.
Alexei Popyrin too is playing in the tournament for the first time in his career. He made it to the main draw after playing the qualifiers. In the first round he clinched a straight set win against Christopher O Connell.
In the second round, he clinched an upset win against 10th seed Felix Auger Aliassime. He then beat Roman Safiullin in straight sets to set up clash against Holger Rune.
Andrey Rublev vs Yannick Hanfmann
Russian Andrey Rublev is aiming to reach his second quarterfinal in the Italian Open. He has won both his matches in straight games. Meanwhile, Yannick Hanfmann is playing in the tournament for the first time in his career. He clinched a victory against ninth seed Taylor Fritz in the second round. He aims to continue his form in the tournament.
Casper Ruud vs Laslo Djere
Casper Ruud is looking to reach his second quarterfinal on clay courts this season. He began his campaign with a dominating 6-4, 6-0 win against Arthur Rinderknech. In the third round, he dropped a set against Alexander Bublik but managed to clinch a hard-fought win.
Laslo Djere meanwhile received a walkover in the first round from Constant Lestienne. He then defeated 23rd seed Botic van de Zandschulp. In the third round he yet again received a walkover from Cristian Garin after he led 6-3, 2-1.
