- Her next best performance was reaching until the semifinals at Miami Open, where she lost against Naomi Osaka.
- She won her maiden title at clay this year by winning the Charleston Open, where she defeated Ons Jabeur in a three-setter in the final.
- Against the same opponent, Bencic now will be playing to win her second title this year.
