In what can be described as one of the greatest Australian Open finals, veteran Rafael Nadal outlasted next-gen Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling final at the Rod Laver Arena on Sunday. Trailing two sets, Nadal summoned every bit of his strength to pull off one of the greatest and unlikeliest comebacks in the history of the sport.
Nadal battled on for 5 hours 24 minutes in an epic match against Daniil Medvedev, just less than two months after he required crutches to walk due to an injury. Nadal could barely stand through the entirety of the presentation ceremony and sought a seat midway, before addressing the fans and the media.
