U Mumba registered their second straight victory after defeating Tamil Thalaivas 39-32 in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9. Raiders Guman Singh, Ashish and Jai Bhagwan amassed 30 points between them to hand the Mumbai side a scintillating victory. Narender chipped in with a few raids as Tamil Thalaivas took the lead at 6-4 in the 7th minute.
Guman Singh led the charge for U Mumba through some fantastic raids, but the Thalaivas kept inching ahead. In the 13th minute, the defense unit stepped up for the Tamil Nadu side and further widened their lead at 10-7. Moments later, Narender pulled off another brilliant raid to reduce U Mumba to three players on the mat. But, soon after, Jai Bhagwan effected a multi-point raid to help the Mumbai side level the scores at 12-12. However, the Thalaivas managed to keep their noses in front at 16-15 at the end of the first half.
Guman Singh pulled off a multi-point raid in the opening minutes of the second half and soon after the U Mumba team inflicted an ALL OUT to take the lead at 20-17. Bhagwan effected two raid points in the 27th minute as the Thalaivas were reduced to three players on the mat. Moments later, Ashish carried out a fabulous raid as U Mumba inflicted another ALL OUT and took a massive lead at 31-22. Raiders Ashish, Guman and Bhagwan kept picking up points and eventually closed out a comprehensive victory for U Mumba.

Rahul Chaudhari began the match on a high for Jaipur Pink Panthers, as he not only earned two raid points, but also eliminated the dangerous Manjeet in the first raid. But a minute later, Mohit caught Rahul to restore parity in the match. When Arjun Deshwal earned another raid point, eliminating Nitin Rawal, the Panthers extended their lead to 6-2, putting the Steelers on the backfoot.
At the halfway mark in the first half, Arjun executed a Super Raid, but a Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit combo inflicted a Super Tackle and got the Jaipur Pink Panthers raider out to level the playing field once again. A few minutes later, Ankush and Sahul Kumar combined to inflict a Super Tackle on Meetu as Jaipur Pink Panthers took the lead again. The Panthers then inflicted an All-Out on the Steelers and went into halftime with a solid lead of 20-12.
Manjeet was caught by Sunil in the first raid of the second half as the gap between the teams continued to increase. With a strong lead, Jaipur Pink Panthers strategically started playing safely, attacking only on Do-or-Die raids. But Arjun continued his good show, eliminating Mohit on a Do-or-Die raid to extend the lead to 23-14.
Jaipur Pink Panthers then inflicted another All-Out on Haryana Steelers, further extending their lead. Arjun continued to pick up raid points for his team as the clock kept ticking by.
The Steelers’ defence couldn’t find a way to tackle the threat posed by the Panthers raider. On the other end, defenders Sahul and Ankush performed consistently as they did not allow the Steelers to get back into the game with raid points. With a handsome lead, Jaipur Pink Panthers started testing their bench strength, but Haryana Steelers were unable to cover the deficit as the Season 1 champions picked up a big victory.

A terrific all-round performance by the Gujarat Giants helped them earn their first victory of the 2022 Pro Kabaddi League. For Giants as usual Raider Rakesh was his absolute best. The Giants, bolstered by Rakesh’s 15 points, beat Puneri Paltan 47-37 in the final game of the night.
Gujarat Giants started the game with a lead with Rakesh accumulating points in the raids. However Puneri Paltan were not too far away as they kept the deficit under control. However Rakesh managed to take out Paltan defenders Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabhibhaksh as Paltan lost the plot in the middle and allowed Giants to take a big lead. They soon initiated the first all out of the game to take a five-point lead at 16-11.
However Paltan gave a strong comeback as they changed their plan and Fazel Atrachali immediately tackled both their star raiders Rakesh and Chandran Ranjith in quick succession to help Paltan level the scores. By the end of first half, Giants led 19-17. In the second half too Paltan fought well as they took an all-out and led 22-21. But Giants came back strong with Rakesh yet again impressive in the raids. The Paltan defence couldn’t find ways to keep him silent as the were soon all-out twice as they took an unassailable 47-37 lead and closed out the contest.
