1. Mayank Agarwal
These two Test matches will be a big opportunity for Mayank Agarwal to nail his place down in the team, since KL Rahul remains unavailable owing to an injury. However, Mayank’s own form is not particularly impressive as he scored only one half-century in the three Tests against South Africa a couple of months ago. Hence, he will need to deliver against the Lankans.

2. Hanuma Vihari
Like Mayank, Hanuma Vihari also is not going through a rough patch. He has not scored a half-century in any of his last four Test matches. With Shreyas Iyer scoring a hundred in his debut test, Vihari will need to play a few defining knocks in this series to safeguard his place.
3. Jayant Yadav
Jayant Yadav had not done anything spectacular in his short Test career until his last match against England in Mumbai, where he picked up a four-wicket haul in his second inning. He has been retained in the team for justifiable reasons, but when Washington Sundar returns from injury, the 32-year-old all-rounder could get the axe. Hence, he will need to justify his place in the team all over again.
