Hamilton & Verstappen crash at Copse
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen both collided at the 2021 British GP at the Copse. The duo started the race from the front grid as Hamilton had a slightly better start than the Dutch driver until the pair made contact going into the ninth corner.

Jody Scheckter McLaren’s chaotic accident
The 1973 British GP is very well known for its first lap accident which saw 11 cars retire from the race. The cause one the accident was Jody Scheckter’s McLaren spun across the track at Woodcote corner at the end of the first lap.
Scheckter lost control completely at the last corner and hit the pit wall and then bounced back onto the track causing the stack up and restart of the race. The crash is viewed as F1’s biggest ever mishap and finished the F1 career of Andrea de Adamich, who was seriously harmed.
The angry Grand Prix Driver’s Association wanted to punish the young South African whose rash driving was the main reason for this significant mishap, for which McLaren responded by pulling out Scheckter for the following four races.
Michael Schumacher wins the race from the Pitlane
The one and only race that was won from the pitlane was the 1998 British GP and only one driver could have pulled this feat which was none other than the seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher.

Mika Hakkinen who was on lead turned in the breaking down wet circumstances prompting the deployment of a Safety vehicle. Yet again Hakkinen failed and Schumacher took a lead over him and consequently acquired a 10-second stop-go penalty as it was during the Safety vehicle period.

Nigel Mansell gives a lift to Ayrton Senna
In the 1991 British GP, Nigel Mansell did take home the victory but he was remembered for giving a lift to Ayrton Senna. Ayrton Senna’s McLaren ran out of fuel at the absolute last lap of the race and finished fourth having begun the race qualifying at second.
