World Cup 2023 witnesses 500 sixes, creates new World Record

Earlier, World Cup 2023 set the record for most sixes ever hit in the history of the tournament.

World Cup 2023 set a new record of having 500 sixes in a single edition of the tournament. Earlier in the World Cup, Sri Lanka hit the 464th maximum against Bangladesh as the ongoing tournament saw the most sixes being hit in a single edition. Meanwhile, the 500th maximum was hit by the defending champions England in their match against the Netherlands.

Rohit Sharma has hit most 6s in World Cup 2023

India skipper Rohit Sharma has hit 22 sixes in the tournament already. Rohit currently leads the list for most sixes hit in the tournament. Sharma is followed by Australia’s Glenn Maxwell with 22 sixes to his name. David Warner has smashed 20 maximums and he is sitting third on the list. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman and South Africa’s Quinton de Kock are joint fourth in the list with 18 sixes to their names.
