1. Randy Couture

The first UFC fighter to win two belts was American heavyweight Randy Couture. Couture captured the heavyweight gold for the first time in 1997. He then won the belt in 2000. However, after he lost the heavyweight title for the second time, Couture went down to light-heavyweight and captured the interim 205 lbs. title against Chuck Liddel. He then unified the title in his next fight. Therefore, he became the first UFC fighter to win the title in two divisions.

2. BJ Penn

The second fighter to win two belts in two divisions was another MMA great. BJ Penn first secured the welterweight title in 2004 when he beat Matt Hughes by submission. However, he has to vacate his title after a contract dispute with the UFC. Penn returned a few years later and in 2008, he beat Joe Stevenson to become the lightweight champion of the world.

3. Conor McGregor

Third on the list is also the first fighter to win two titles and hold them at the same time. Conor McGregor famously defeated Jose Aldo in thirteen seconds to win the featherweight title. And after that dominant win, McGregor challenged the lightweight champion. The Irishman moved up and captured the lightweight title with an incredible performance against Alvarez and became the first to hold two titles simultaneously.

4. Georges St-Pierre

Next on the list of fighters who captured two titles in two divisions was Georges St-Pierre. The Canadian won his first title in 2006 when he beat Matt Hughes in the welterweight division. And more than ten years later, he came out of retirement for a huge fight against Michael Bisping in the middleweight division and secured the middleweight belt as well.

5. Amanda Nunes

Arguably the greatest women’s MMA fighter of all time is next on the list. Brazilian Amanda Nunes won the women’s bantamweight title when she beat Miesha Tate in 2016. She then moved up to featherweight and took on Cris Cyborg for the title. Nunes made light work of Cyborg as well and became a two-division champion. She was the second fighter to hold two belts at the same time and the first and only fighter to defend both belts.

6. Daniel Cormier

Heavyweight Daniel Cormier also conquered two divisions at the same time. He first won the light-heavyweight title in 2015 when he beat Anthony Johnson. And in 2018, Cormier moved up to heavyweight and challenged Stipe Miocic. Cormier put on an incredible performance and won the heavyweight belt and became the third fighter in UFC history to hold two belts at the same time.

7. Henry Cejudo

Former Olympic champion Henry Cejudo also achieved the feat of holding two belts at the same time. His first title came in 2018 when he beat Demetrius Johnson to win the flyweight title. Cejudo then moved up in weight and took on Marlon Moraes for the bantamweight title. And the American outclassed Moraes to become the fourth fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously.

8. Jon Jones

Widely regarded as the greatest of all time, Jon Jones recently won his second title in the UFC. For years Jones dominated the light-heavyweight division. He only lost his title outside the octagon. However, in the octagon, Jones was unbeatable. He won his first title in 2011 when he beat Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua. However, in 2020, Jon Jones said he was moving up to heavyweight. Three years later, Jones made his heavyweight debut and dismantled Ciryl Gane in less than a minute to win his second belt in the UFC.

9. Alex Pereira

The most recent on this list is Brazilian Alex Pereira. ‘Poatan’ famously won his first UFC title when he beat Israel Adesanya in 2022. However, after defeat in the rematch, Pereira decided to move up to light-heavyweight.
