BCCI announces Team India’s squad for ICC U19 World Cup, Uday Saharan to lead

The tri-series between India, England & South Africa will kick-off on 29th December. The ICC U19 World Cup will begin on January 19.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s U19 squad for the the tri-series in South Africa and the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup, slated to take place in South Africa next year.

Punjab’s Uday Pratap Saharan, who is currently leading the Boys in Blue in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2023, will lead the squad in the World Cup.

The junior cricket selection committee picked a 15-member squad for the tri-series and World Cup and three travelling standby players for South Africa triangular series. The selection committee has also named four additional reserve players.

The tri-series between India, England & South Africa will kick-off on 29th December, 2023 with the final scheduled on 10th of January, 2024.

Post the tri-series, India U19 team will begin preparations for the ICC U19 World Cup.

India are in Group A along with Bangladesh, Ireland and USA and will begin their U19 World Cup campaign on 20th January with a game against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein.

Notably, Team India is the most successful team in tournament’s history, winning the title five times and finishing runners-up thrice.
