4 years on, ICC World Cup Prize money stays unchanged at $10 million

With men's and women's World Cup in parity on prize money, ICC has not raised it in WC 2023.

Despite a sweet media rights deal and an increase for all member associations share, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has retained the same prize money for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India as it was four years ago in 2019. The winners of the World Cup 2023 will receive $4 million of the $10 million total prize pool. The runners-up will take home $2 million. The WC final will take place at the Motera Stadium on November 19.

All 10 teams will play each other once in a round-robin format in the Group Stage. The top four in the points table will progress to semifinals. There’s prize money up for grabs for winning their Group Stage games as well. Teams will earn $40,000 for each victory. At the end of the Group Stage, teams that fail to reach the knockouts will each get $100,000.

To remind everyone, ICC had already announced parity in prize money for both men and women. In ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025, teams will earn the same as men’s.
