Tyga recently joined Tyson for an episode on the podcast. Coincidently, this was Tyga’s first-ever podcast. And when speaking about it being his first-ever podcast, he explained why. Tyga said he likes to be ‘super-controlled’ with what he says and even manages his own Instagram to ensure that.
‘Iron Mike’ replied to this with, “I don’t know how to get on Instagram. I don’t even know how to get on Instagram.” While this is not a surprise given that Tyson is 56 years old and clearly not in touch with social media, the way he said it left the room in shock for a couple of seconds.
Moreover, Tyson has over 19.9 million followers on Instagram, and he is very active on the platform. Therefore, you would think that Tyson would at least have access to it. However, when asked who handles it, he said, “I don’t know, must be my wife or somebody else. I don’t know.” Tyson then confirmed that he has a team for it.

The two then continued to speak about a whole host of topics. However, Tyga explained how the music industry started for him and gave a lot of credit to Lil Wayne.
The rapper told Tyson that he started his career as a 17-year-old on tour with Lil Wayne. He said Lil Wayne was recording his ‘Tha Carter III’ album while there were on tour. Tyga praised Lil Wayne’s work ethic and said he learned the grind of the music industry thanks to Lil Wayne.
Moreover, Tyga also spoke about how TikTok and other platforms have changed the game. He pointed out that you can get famous with just one viral hit, and there is no need for the grind. However, his time with Lil Wayne taught him how to work toward his success.
