The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist is trying to keep herself in the best shape possible before returning to the court as she bids to make it to her fifth straight Olympics. “Playing is very easy. I can play tomorrow also but I am trying to keep myself in the best shape possible,” she said as quoted by Sportstar.

“If you want to beat An Se-young or Tai Tzu Ying, I need to train for 6-7 hours a day. That is when the results are going to be possible. Otherwise there is no difference between me and other women players,” she added.

“Trying our best to manage the load”

Saina also touched upon the problems that she is facing with her knee at the moment. “The problem is my knee cartilage. Whenever I am pushing really hard, the knee is giving me trouble. There is lot of swelling. So we are trying our best to manage the load.”
