Asian Para Games: Following Sumit Nagal’s historic gold medal in the Men’s F64 Javelin Throw category, India’s Haney added one more gold medal to India’s tally in the 4th Asian Para Games. Haney set the Asian Para Games record with a throw of 55.97m on Wednesday, 25th October.

In the Men’s Javelin F37/38 event, Haney bagged the gold medal. This category is for the athletes with a moderately affected coorfination and movement down one side.
Haney finished ahead of Iran’s Hormoz Seidikazpounji, who bagged the silver medal with his season-best throw of 48.47m. While China’s Dongquan An settled for the bronze medal.
With the throw, Haney broke the games record of 46.28m. Other Indian para athlete, Boby finished 6th in the same event. He thew at 42.23m.
Sumit Antil and Pushpendra seal double podium finish
Earlier in the day, Sumit Antil and Pushpendra Singh dominated the podium standings by clinching gold and bronze medals respectively in the men’s Javelin Throw-F64 final.
Sumit broke the Asian Para Games record, World record and Asian record in the event with a throw of 73.29m. He reached the mark in his third attempt of the day and clinched a gold medal. Earlier in the day, Narayan Thakur clocked a timing of 29.83s to settle for a bronze medal, finishing well behind the top two athletes.
Meanwhile, Shreyansh Trivedi clinched the bronze medal in the T-37 200m event with a time of 25.26s. Meanwhile, in archery, Harvinder Singh and Sahil claimed a bronze medal in the men’s Doubles Recurve.
