Gamers Mangkuk is 1st MLBB Premium TV Series produced by Astro Shaw and MOONTON Games. The series tells the story of a group of five amateur esports players who compete in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) to achieve their dreams of becoming professional gamers. The series is directed by Hyrul Anuar and written by Sham Hashim, Bainun Waheeda, and Haris M. Nor. It stars Amir Ahnaf, Taufik Izmir, Nick Davis, Sara Mack Lubis, and Sathisvaran as the main leads.
The series is also supported by a cast of other well-known Malaysian actors, including Amelia Christie, Josiah Hogan, Nadia Brian, Taqim Zaki, Khatijah Tan, Louisa Chong, and Puteri Qaseh.
The director of Gamers Mangkuk, Hyrul Anuar, says, “Gamers Mangkuk highlights Generation Z. Nonetheless I have included elements and entertainment values for the general audience as well as accentuating the narrative in a comic concept. Amongst the main challenges that I have faced while filming the series is staying true to the gaming elements. I hope Gamers Mangkuk will be received well amongst the audience as well as it is able to entertain them.”

Gamers Mangkuk is an 8-episode series that depicts the life of amateur esports players who are paving their way through the ranks of the best players via Mobile Legends: Bang Bang with the sponsorship of Mangkuk Hajah Munah. Named after their sponsor, Gamers Mangkuk receive an invitation of a lifetime from the country’s renowned and famous e-player and streamer, Slayer, to compete in a prestigious competition in which the winner will earn their place among the best professional players in Team Perang, which is also the national champion.
Despite their efforts, the team is deceived by the promises made by the organizer, who has a different agenda altogether. The organizer is only interested in the attention of the spectators and sponsors, and they have organized a rigged competition. The winners of the tournament were predetermined before Gamers Mangkuk even entered the competition. Feeling cheated by the organizer, Gamers Mangkuk challenges Team Perang to a duel, which will be aired live in front of an audience. Will they be able to achieve supremacy as the new esports champs? All will be revealed at the end of the 1st MLBB Premium TV Series.
Gamers Mangkuk depicts the essence of friendship and the sacrifices that need to be made to achieve the ultimate mission of an esports tournament. Living by the aphorism, “Life Is A Game, Play It,” all team members give their all as they face upheaval and challenges while attaining the height of an esports player.
