Warning signs for Indian spinners! Joe Root turns left-hander ahead of Vizag Test
England's Joe Root turned left-handed batter in the nets to prepare against Indian spinners ahead of the Vizag Test.

England’s veteran Joe Root had an amazing outing with ball in the opening Test in Hyderabad. However, the star player struggled against the Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

However, the veteran batter is determined to make a comeback with bat in the second Test in Vizag, starting on February 2.

In team’s first session in Vizag, Root was seen switching from a right-handed batter to a left-handed batter in nets. He changed his technique to practice reverse sweeps.

With Kuldeep Yadav likely to play in the second Test, Root’s method could be to counter the wrist spinner.

Notably, a wrist spinner’s delivery traditionally turns away from the right-handed batter, which makes it difficult to hit. However, switching to left-handed could make it easier to hit the turning ball towards the leg-side.
