A spokesperson for team Haas said, “I can confirm our freight arrived late last night to the circuit in Bahrain. This delay will impact our program. But we are targeting being out on track for the second session on Thursday afternoon with Pietro Fittipaldi driving the VF-22. I have no other updates at this time.”

The spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that the freight was finally in Bahrain. But, they will not be ready to get running before the Thursday afternoon session.

The times are difficult for team Haas as they have parted ways with Nikita Mazepin and their sponsor Uralkali too. After Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Haas felt they could not continue with Uralkali.

They still haven’t revealed who will replace Nikita Mazepin for the 2022 Formula 1 season. But, Pietro Fittipaldi, their reserve driver will be seen driving in this week’s pre-season test.

Antonio Giovinazzi and Nico Hulkenberg have been linked with the seat. There are reports that Kevin Magnussen could even see a surprise return after opening talks with the team.
Haas owner Gene Haas said the loss of Uralkali as the sponsor will hit the team’s funding. But, the future of the team is not in any doubt as it is well backed. Gene added, “We’re good. We’re fine. We’d like more money, of course, but we’re fine. This just gives us a bigger negative number.”
