The 34-year-old then dismissed tailenders Piyush Chawla and Chris Jordan in his next over to reduce Mumbai Indians to 164/9. Mohit took the final wicket in his 3rd over in the form of Kumar Kartikeya as MI got bundled out for 171.

Mohit ended his spell with 5/10, making it the joint second-best by an Indian bowler in IPL, with Jasprit Bumrah also claiming 5/10 last year.

While Mohit displayed a stunning bowling performance, the highlight of the match was Shubman Gill’s stunning 60-ball 129 which just blew away Mumbai Indians in the first innings. The Gujarat Titans’ opener got a reprieve earlier in the innings when he was dropped by Tim David. Gill then didn’t look back as he punished the Mumbai Indians’ bowlers, including Akash Madhwal, who picked a 5-wicket haul in the previous game. Gill completed his 3rd ton in just 49 balls. His inning was laced with 7 fours and 10 mammoth sixes.

With the win, the Hardik Pandya-led side reached their 2nd successive final of the IPL. The Titans will now face CSK in the final of the IPL 2023 on Sunday, May 28.
