The much-awaited clash of IPL 2023 between CSK and GT was postponed on Sunday owing to rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The showers brought disappointment for thousands of IPL fans, who were expecting to enjoy the epic finals. However, not every fan had the luxury to go back to their comfortable homes as some Chennai Super Kings fans were spotted sleeping on the ground at nearest railway station. To note, this is the first time ever in the history of IPL, that the final match was suspended and rescheduled to the Reserve Day. The organizers made the final announcement around 11:00 PM that the match postponed and asked the fans to keep the physical copy of the ticket. In some bad news for the cricket, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has also predicted showers in Ahmedabad on Monday as well. As per the weather department, light to moderate rainfall with gusty winds (30-40 km) is predicted on May 29.
With the match getting moved to reserve day, both teams will have more time to pan out their strategies. The defending champs are on fire this season with Shubman Gill leading their batting department. In bowling, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami have been spewing venom with the ball as they are on top of the most wickets list for the season.
For CSK, openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have been magnificent. Shivam Dube has also played some crucial knocks for the four-time champions. In bowling, Tushar Deshpande, Ravindra Jadeja and Matheesha Pathirana have been decent for the yellow outfit. It remains to be seen who will come out on top in the crunch encounter of IPL 2023 on Monday.
