Check out the changes coming in Valorant Patch 12.09. Learn about the upcoming nerfs to Neon's High Gear sprint and the new shotgun accuracy adjustments.

As per the recent VALORANT update, several important balance changes will be made by Valorant Patch 12.09. As can be seen from the official update and some visuals, there have been tweaks made to the extremely fast duelist Neon, as well as the behavior of shotguns while moving, which will now be less accurate in this case. Therefore, the developers have also disabled Neon from the game till VALORANT Patch 12.09.

VALORANT Patch 12.09 will see Neon getting Nerfed

The base movement skills of Neon are being nerfed to provide some counterplay to the hero. First and foremost, this concerns her “High Gear” skill.

With patch 12.09, players will not get any speed boost when jumping during “High Gear,” although this happens when the skill is still active. This will mean that Neon will move at the same speed as a regular character sprinting with a melee weapon.

  • As for her energy fuel, there are going to be two changes related to this element:
  • Her fuel will regen only on kill when Neon’s ultimate skill is active.
  • At the same time, her fuel will regenerate just like before over time.

Lastly, there will be visual improvements made to her slide ability. Her new visual effects will accurately indicate where she will be sliding from and which way she will be moving, making it easier for her enemies to trace her fast motions during the clash.

This change aims to reduce the effectiveness of “run-and-gun” playstyles across all maps.

Players who commonly use Neon or those with aggressive shotgun strategies must adjust accordingly once Patch 12.09 is officially released.
