While the light-heavyweight title bout between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill might be the main focus of UFC 283, the co-main could be a fight for the ages between two of the best flyweights in recent history. Figueiredo and Moreno will face each other for the fourth time in what could be one of the best rivalries in UFC history.

Both fighters come into the bout as champions, and on the back of impressive wins. In his last fight, Figueiredo beat Moreno to regain his belt, whereas Moreno beat Kai-Kara France to become interim champion. Therefore, both fighters go into the bout with some momentum. Moreover, when you consider the history between them, you can be sure both Figueiredo and Moreno will be up for the fight.
In terms of how they compare physically, there is very little to separate them. Figueiredo stands at 5’5”, with a 68” punch reach and a 38” leg reach. Moreno stands at 5’7”, with a 70” punch reach, and a 38” leg reach. In addition, both fight in orthodox stances.
Therefore, when you look at these attributes, it is no surprise why the last three fights between the two have been so close. Moreover, when you consider their fight stats, the numbers are very similar again. While they throw the same number of punches, Figueiredo has slightly better accuracy. And although they attempt a similar number of takedowns, Moreno has slightly better takedown accuracy.
So all signs point towards yet another close bout between the two. So it will be very difficult to predict the winner. The only prediction we can make confidently is that it will be a cracking contest and maybe even the fight of the night.
