Raducanu started the Grass Court season this year at the Nottingham Open on 7th June, where she met Viktorija Golubic in the first round. She played only for 34 minutes and retired midway in the first set when she was trailing 3-4 after suffering side strain.

Wimbledon 2022: Why Emma Raducanu’s Wimbledon hopes remain a question mark?
- The 19-year-old suffered numerous injuries this year and had to miss tournaments.
- At the start of the year, she suffered blisters on her hand during the Australian Open and bowed out from the tournament in the second round.
- In February, she had to withdraw from her first-round contest at Mexican Open after suffering from a hip injury.
- She then suffered a back injury during her first-round contest against Bianca Andreescu at the Italian Open and withdrew from the match after trailing 2-6, 1-2.
- The side strain that she has suffered is her first-round contest at Nottingham Open made her withdraw mid-way from a game for the third time this year.

Emma Raducanu, who is ranked World No.11 in the WTA rankings will be the 10th seed in the Wimbledon. She stormed into the limelight after winning the 2021 US Open title, becoming the first-ever qualifier in the Open era to win a Grand Slam title, she also became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since 1977. However, since that victory, she has been bogged down by suffering numerous injuries.
Despite the concerns on her latest injury, the organisers of the Wimbledon are set to slot in her name in the draws and Raducanu’s medical team is hopeful that she will play in front of the home crowd for the first time since becoming a Grand Slam winner.
