T20 World Cup: Zimbabwe Cricket took to Twitter to post a video of the same as well. In what was seemingly a restaurant, the fans left no stone unturned in recreating the vibes of a packed stadium. Not only did the supporters stand up at their tables and dance, but they also started singing out of joy. As far as the game is concerned, Zimbabwe lost the toss and were asked to field first. However, their bowlers were right on the money from the word go.
Zimbabwe restricted Scotland to 132, and also picked up six wickets in the process. Tendai Chatara and Richard Ngarava picked up two wickets each. As for the second innings, Zimbabwe’s captain Ervine led from the front and scored a 54-ball 58. However, it was Sikandar Raza’s quickfire knock that sealed the deal for them. He scored 40 runs off just 23 balls.

As Ervine and Raza were dismissed within a span of two overs, Zimbabwe still needed 14 runs from 18 balls with five wickets in hand. However, Milton Shumba and Ryan Burl kept their calm and saw their side thorough. Thus, Zimbabwe became the fourth team after Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Ireland to qualify for the Super 12s. Ervine was a happy man during the post-match presentation.
“I don’t think anyone can explain what this means. To have the whole country behind us for the last week, it’s wonderful to repay their support. The support for us has been special, looking forward to travelling around Australia and having this kind of support,” said Ervine after the completion of the match.
