It was Neeraj Chopra’s first competition in 10 months as he focused on training and recovery besides attending felicitation functions during this period.

In his first attempt, Neeraj Chopra managed 88.07m in the heats. He was placed fifth in the heats behind four Finnish athletes.
In the finals, Neeraj began with a throw of 86.92m, the best of the first round.
In his next attempt, Neeraj Chopra shattered his own National Record with a throw of 89.30m.
This is the first time Neeraj has breached the 89m mark.
His previous best was 88.07m during the Indian GP in Patiala last year.

Neeraj Chopra’s main competitor was reigning world champion Anderson Peters.
Peters managed 86.60m in the final to finish third.
Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic finished 6th with a throw of 83.91m.
London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad and Tobago finished 4th with a throw of 84.02m.
German ace Johannes Vetter, Chopra’s arch-rival, was initially set to compete at Turku but withdrew.
His compatriots Julian Weber and Andreas Hofmann had a disappointing day.
Weber finished 5th with a throw of 84.02m while Hofmann finished last with a throw of 76.19.
