“The training period at Colorado Springs was very beneficial and I can go there again. With Paris Olympics in mind, I want to base myself in Europe, that will make it easier to train and compete. I will discuss the plans with federations and decide,” said Sable as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Avinash Sable also wants to train in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. He has earlier had a brief training stint in the city in the past. “I have trained in Rabat and the facilities and conditions are good for steeplechase,” he said.

“There you can train in high altitude in Ifrane and then come down to sea level in Rabat, which is 200km away, for short stints. It is important to do such training in cycles.” added Sable.

At the recently concluded Asian Games, Avinash Sable won the gold medal in 3000m Steeplechase. He finished first in the race with an impressive timing of 19.50 seconds and set the Games record in the process.

Meanwhile he also won the silver medal in the 5000m. He will however be in action only in the Steeplechase at the Paris Olympics. The 29-year old made the cut for the quadrennial event at the Silesia Diamond League earlier this year. He achieved the qualification with a timing of 8:11.63.
